A bill to legalize gay marriage in Washington won final legislative approval on Wednesday. This makes Washington the seventh state to recognize same-sex marriage. The vote by the House of Representatives was won 55 to 43. The bill was endorsed by many companies based in the area such as Microsoft, Amazon and Starbucks. Although this bill has been approved, the bill must still be signed, which will happen before Tuesday, and even still, the measure will not take effect before June 7. The approval of this bill came only a day after a marriage ban in California was declared unconstitutional .
